Money Management Apps

Money Management Apps: Since the most recent global economic recession many economies have since stabilized, and in the case of the United States stock market, it has steadily grown to pre 9/11 levels. With investment growing and the unemployment rate below 5%, many have turned towards saving some of their hard earned income. But saving isn’t always easy as it requires some personal control and forking over (at least temporarily) some of your money. The good news is that there are several apps and programs that exist to aid you in your savings goals.
- Digit – What started as a text message-based service is now its own full-fledged app that connects to your bank account and makes small withdrawals based upon the overall balance. If you have a lot it’ll take out several bucks, and a few cents if you’re near broke. These incremental amounts get put in their own savings account that can be accessed at any time and you can edit the frequency and amount that gets taken out.
- Acorns – A personal favorite, this app has a feature similar to a few banks that round up your purchases to the nearest dollar and saves them in your Acorns account. What makes this app unique is that the amounts that are saved can be directly invested in financial products, such as stocks and bonds. While growth is usually small and steady as these are mostly small stocks people like to invest in, there still is the chance to lose money, but the small amounts lesson that actual risk.
- Betterment – This app is very similar to Acorns, but self-advertises itself as an investment and wealth management service. The app features global stock indexes and comes with human wealth management support for higher investment users (minimum balance of $100,000+ for service to become available to you) so most people will probably not be able to get the full benefits of the service compared to a few others who may find it useful.
- Credit Karma – While not really a savings or investing app, it does let you keep an eye on that ever important credit score, and it will also tell you ways you can improve it. The app will also inform users if they have any outstanding accounts to help avoid late fees or delinquencies.
Being aware of spending is an important part of life and its nice to know that there are several ways to assist with that goal. FreedomNet Solutions offers internet service for a flat monthly fee that features some of Michigan’s largest data allowances up to 2 terabytes of data per month. For more data conscious users, FreedomNet Solutions is still happy to provide unlimited internet service for higher end users who need it.
