Email Setup: Windows Vista
Use this guide to configure Windows Vista email client to work with your FreedomNet Email.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Start Windows Mail. On the “Tools” menu, click “Accounts.”
Step 2: Add Account
Click on “Add” on the Internet Accounts Window.
Step 3: Email Account
Choose “E-Mail Account” and then click “Next”.
Step 4: Your Name
Type your name the way you would like it displayed, then click Next.
Step 5: Email Address
Type your full FreedomNet email address, then click “Next”.
Step 6: Email Servers
Make sure POP3 is chosen for the server type, then type “fnw.us” for BOTH the incoming and outgoing server names. Finally make sure “Outgoing server requires authentication” is checked, then click Next.
Step 7: Mail Login
Type in your ENTIRE email address for the username and type in your password, then click Next.
Step 8: Do Not Download My Email at This Time
Click on “Do not download my e-mail at this time”, then click Finish.
Step 9: Properties Selection
Click on the properties button to move forward to the Advanced Configuration menu. Please ensure that your email is selected before clicking the Properties button.
Step 10: Advanced Configuration
Make sure both boxes are checked for the incoming and outgoing servers, also make sure Outgoing is set to 465 and Incoming is set to 995, then click OK, then Close. You are now finished!
