Perform the steps below to make adjustments to your D-Link router through the web-based setup page:
Make sure the cable from your FreedomNet radio is plugged into the internet port on your router.
Using one end of the network cable attach it to “Port 1” on the back of your D-Link router and the other end to your laptop or desktop.
Open your web browser on your computer. In the URL address line type in: HTTP://192.168.0.1 and press the “Enter” key.
The D-Link router login box will appear on the screen, asking you to enter a username and password. The username should be “admin” and the password should be left blank for most models of D-Link routers. Click the “Login” button to log in to your router.
Note: If this default username and password does not work please refer to your routers manual or contact your router manufacturer.)
Now that you have logged to your D-Link wireless router, it should be positioned at the opening page under the “SETUP” tab and “Internet Setup” sub-tab.
- On the bottom half of the opening page, Click on the button titled “Manual Internet Connection Setup”.
- On the next screen under the section “Internet Connection Type” Select “Dynamic IP (DHCP) from the “My Internet Connection is:” dropdown list.
The other settings below may be left at their defaults.
- On the bottom of the page Click on the “Save Settings” button to apply changes to the routers configuration and continue to D-Link router setup for wireless security.
Your private network is now secure. You may exit the browsing window.
