Protect Yourself from Ransomware: In the past week, reports of a widespread global cyber attack via malware were cropping up across 150 countries. Known as WannaCry ransomware, it is a type of malware that retrieves all the data in a computer, encrypts it, and then charges the users a fee for the decryption key. The perpetrators of the WannaCry attack have demanded users to pay $300 for their decryption keys, with the amount doubling after a certain amount of time, and there is currently no known solution, other than to pay the ransom to the attackers.

If one receives an unsolicited email or link from an unrecognizable source, it is usually a good idea not to proceed any further, and definitely, do not download anything as it may contain malware that will infect your computer making it not only a hassle for users but an expensive one too. We also recommend using an antivirus/security software whenever connecting online.
