Email Setup: Apple iOS

Use this guide to configure Apple iOS Email to work with your FreedomNet Email.

Step 1: Create Your Account (Part 1)

On the main menu, click “Settings.”

Step 2: Create Your Account (Part 2)

In the settings dialog screen, click “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and then click “Add Mail Account.”

Step 3: Add Account

In the Add Account screen, select “Other”.

Step 4: New Account

In the New Account screen, type your Name, Email, your email password. In the Description, type how you want the account to show up on your device. Click “Next”.

Step 5: Host Names

In the next screen:

  • Select “POP” as the server type
  • The Name, Address, and Description should auto-fill from the page before. If it didn’t, fill these in manually.

Under Incoming Mail Server:Host Name:

  • Host Name: “”
  • User Name: Your full email address.
  • Password: The password you have set up with your email address.

Under Outgoing Mail Server:

  • Host Name: “”
  • User Name: Leave blank
  • Password: Leave blank.

Click  “Save”

Step 6: Accounts Page

After saving you will be brought back to the accounts page. Select the account you just set up “ex. Freedomnet Email”

Step 7: SMTP Account Settings

  • To configure your email, select the “SMTP” button under Outgoing Mail Server.
  • Under the SMTP screen select, “”.

Step 8: Outgoing Mail Settings

  • On the screen,
    • Toggle the Server “ON”.

    Under Outgoing Mail Server:

    • Host Name: “”.
    • User Name: Your full email address.
    • Password: Enter the password you set up with this email address.
    • Toggle Use SSL” to  “ON”
    • Server Port: Type “465”

    After verifying the settings on the page, select Authentication.

Step 9: Outgoing Mail Authentication

  • Under the authentication screen select “Password”.
  • Click the back arrow.
  • Click “Done”.

You should now be able to send & receive email.
